ABOUT EMILY FREIMAN

Emily Ann Freiman, MA (College of Notre Dame de Namur), ATR-Registered Art Therapist, Retired), blends a solid New England classical fine arts background (Paier College of Art in Connecticut, 1970-74: illustration major) with a joyous California sensibility. Artist, illustrator, surface textile design trained, Chinese brush painting trained, outdoor muralist, published poet, and painting instructor, she works in both representational and abstract genres. Mediums include watercolor, casein and gouache, acrylic, pastel, oil, mixed media, and painted silk. She facilitated watercolor and acrylic painting workshops and classes in Napa, for individuals and groups. Emily’s work- “Hot Pink Fuchsias” hangs as large giclees in four suites at the Napa River Inn. She has served ten years as board member and President (five years) of the Art Association Napa Valley and was editor of the AANV Palette Newsletter. Having created/facilitated a three year long “Invite the Muse” writing/artmaking course to adults in Napa, she plans to publish a workbook for course facilitators, as well as a few poetry volumes. Emily is facilitating art projects with Down syndrome/disabled adults through a grant from Art Association Napa Valley and Brown Street Gallery. More art on this page to come! And enjoy the video.
