I've begun a series of women's "visages" portraits, with camellias and an occasional bird. These first three are done in acrylics on canvas; fourth is in oils on stretched canvas. I have my sister Lorraine to thank for the inspiration; she was on a cruise ship while Itzchak Tarkay had a show and sale of his work. She shared his work in photos with me when I visited her in January of 2019. Modigliani is the inspiration for the top one, "A Nod to Lady M." Below: "Woman in Hat with Camellias"; below that: "woman in Hat with Bird and Camellias". I have a camellia bush outside in the front of my building and was using the blossoms as reference for these paintings. Fourth painting is a Tarkay reference, "Woman in Chair with Camellias"; 14.5" x 20" x 2" depth.
